The Deori Community: Nurturing Development and Identity
It is with great pleasure and anticipation that I, as the Chief Executive of the Deori Autonomous Council (DAC), welcome the arrival of community in our esteemed autonomous region. The arrival of this innovative resource marks a promising step towards a sustainable and prosperous future for the Deori people. Historically, the Deori Community has grappled with marginalization and a lack of representation, particularly at the grassroots level, such as in village panchayats. By establishing the Deori Autonomous Council, the government has sought to redress this imbalance and provide the Deori people with a platform to articulate their aspirations, contribute to local governance, and shape the trajectory of their own development. This proactive approach embodies a commitment to fostering inclusive and participatory governance, wherein the voices of all communities, including marginalized ones like the Deoris, are not only heard but also heeded.
