The Deori community represents one of the most ancient and culturally rich communities of Assam. With a population of approximately three and a half lakh people, the Deoris are distributed across seven districts in upper Assam: Dhemaji, Lakhimpur, Sonitpur, Jorhat, Sibsagar, Dibrugarh, and Tinsukia.
Known for their deep connection with nature, agricultural expertise, and vibrant cultural traditions, the Deoris have maintained their unique identity while adapting to modern times.
